“Kale, can’t I just go to an installer?”
A GP would never perform brain surgery. Just like an installer should never draft security plans. Seeing a generalist for a specialised field feels off, right? Right!
Like dentists and teeth. Astronauts and space travel. Security and communications are my thing. As a security consultant, I offer personalised, informed and specialised advice. So you know it’s correct. Every. Single. Time.
“What even is security, communications and telecommunications though?”
Are you sick of people blurting out buzzwords that make no sense? Hear you. Let’s look at it this way:
Security: Everything that keeps your building secure. Think CCTV, automated locks and gates, swipe cards and control rooms.
Communications: All the tech inside your building and often behind walls. Like jacks, servers and TV points.
Telecommunications: Everything that connects your building with the outside world. Think Wi-Fi, NBN and phone systems.
Think of me as the security tech consultant who doesn’t talk nerdy to you.
“Why should I pay you when I can just get the security integrator to do this stuff?”
I love security integrators, I really do (in fact, I used to be one). And I completely agree that price is important. It’s well known within the industry that most integrators are trained to use specific brands, so they’re the only ones they recommend. I’m not tied to brands, so my answers go far deeper than the sales brochure (which you won’t have to read now). I’m a massive nerd (guilty). So I keep up with the latest changes and technologies on the Australian market. Then test the lot. (Told you. Nerd.) So, my recommendations are completely based on your best possible solution.

Just like with fires, It’s best to be prepared before they happen.
It’s great to hear your systems are chugging along okay at the moment. My approach is to look at your whole system and see what the life of it looks like. The world of tech moves faster than a speeding bullet train headed straight for Mars in the year 2798. So, often when a system reaches a point where it’s experiencing niggling issues, parts are trickier to come by. We don’t want you getting into the scenario of your clients not being able to get into your building because a spare board has to be sent in from another state. I’m all about that #proactivelife and always recommend getting in touch *before* disaster strikes.
